In addition to their mosaic tiles, Moroccans are also quite famous for their chiseled tile patterns. The raw material used is glazed 4”x4” (10cm x 10cm) sheets. Artisans create chiseled patterns using the technique of negative space, revealing terra cotta as the familiar background color.
