Moroccan Bathroom

Moroccan bathrooms, also known as hammams, are sanctuaries of peace and purity. Moroccans like to spend a great deal of time in them, which is apparent by the widespread popularity of spas and public baths. Some of it can be traced back to the Islamic religion, which emphasizes the importance of continually cleansing oneself both physically and spiritually.

In more recent times, many Westerns have been discovering the unique appeal and characteristics of Moroccan style bathrooms. The main design elements that will transform any bathroom into an authentic hammam include extensive use of Moroccan zellige tiles, brass sinks and urns, candleholders, lanterns, hand carved wood chairs etc.
